Patch impact assessment identifies system-level files used by an application that will be overwritten if a patch is deployed. Patch risk assessment. Even the best-tested patches pose a risk to your production environment. Many applications end up with files in multiple locations, such as redistributed runtimes or critical system files isolated in non-system directories. Patch risk assessment analyzes installed patches and identifies exactly which files werent upgraded as part of the patchs installation routine and allows you to decide how and when to remediate the problem, minimizing the risk of installing patches.
